Psyonix has unveiled all the new features for season 2 of Rocket League Sideswipe, the mobile version of its car game.
Since being available on mobiles, Rocket League Sideswipe has only had one season which lasted several months. But it’s time to say goodbye because Psyonix has just announced the arrival of a season 2, which brings with it some new content. Discover here everything that awaits you in the game from February 2 at 5 p.m.
A new ball game
Until now, three game modes were available: duel mode, doubles or baskets. The latter will soon disappear and be replaced by another ball game: volleyball. In this mode you will not find a goal on the ground, but a net in the center which will delimit the spaces of play. The objective will therefore be to bring the ball into the area of your opponents and make it touch the ground. This is a 2v2 mode only.
The game also introduces Casual game modes in which you face real opponents without compromising your rank. These are therefore fast games recommended for those who do not wish to bet on their hard-earned level.
With each new season, players will also have the opportunity to unlock new items. For Season 2, Psyonix introduces the Supernova and Duel of Dragons goal blasts, the Twilight 1986 wheels as well as the Breakout car. As a reminder, in Rocket League Sideswipethe battle pass is completely free and the items in the store are unlocked with virtual money earned in part.
Rocket League Sideswipe is already available for download on iOS and Android for free. It is part of a category of rare titles that do not use advertising or micro-transactions to fund themselves. Nevertheless, note that the game does not support cross-play with the game Rocket League original, available on consoles and PC. If a first update for season 2 was made overnight, a second, larger one will be available around 5 p.m. on February 2.
