On Black Friday 2021, the Xbox Series S sold better than the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X according to the Adobe Digital Economy Index. It is the cheapest console of the three.
Xbox Series S topped Sales During Black Friday
The bestsellers for the Xbox Series S on Black Friday aren’t actually that surprising. Indeed, it was the console that was most often in stock. Due to the global shortage of chips, the silicon needed to produce advanced hardware like the PS5 and Xbox Series X is simply hard to come by. Microsoft and Sony both sell their entire inventory of PS5s and Xbox Series Xs almost instantly, as soon as they go on sale. In comparison, the Xbox Series S uses less powerful internals, which are easier to find in an economy desperately looking for chips for everything from EVs to smart toasters.
The Xbox Series S is therefore below the other two consoles. Despite everything, the € 299 model manages to run many games at 60 frames per second. However, we must draw a line on 4K, players must be satisfied with 2K (1440p). We must also be content with games in dematerialized format. Suffice to say that this console is interesting for those who play little or those who do not necessarily seek the best graphics.
