Did you like Shang-Chi? We have two good news!

Shang-Chi has visibly met his audience. The character played by Simu Liu was already coming back for a second installment, Disney + also plans to devote a series to him.

On Disney +, Marvel superheroes are everywhere. While it is currently broadcasting Hawkeye, dedicated to the eponymous character, the platform still has many Marvel-stamped series in its boxes. The program for the next few years will be busy, between Loki season 2 or Secret Invasion with Samuel L. Jackson. Because yes, the SVOD platform represents a golden opportunity for the house of ideas to expand its universe outside of dark rooms and to take a new look at the different characters who inhabit its very large MCU.

At the end of Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, Marvel announced by its traditional message of credits that the character would be back in the more or less near future. If we quickly imagined that a second part was in preparation, it would seem that this is not the only project that the company led by Kevin Feige is currently developing.

Destiny Daniel Cretton comes according to Deadline to sign an exclusive agreement with Marvel for several years. He joined the ranks of Disney but also of its subsidiary Hulu Onyx Collective. He is currently working on the development of a series for Disney +, the plot of which is still kept a secret. We can nevertheless imagine that it will be about exploring the organization of the ten rings, which is now headed by Shang-Chi’s sister (Jiang-Li). It will also come back to the realization of a second Shang-Chi, which does not yet have a release date.

At least one series for Hulu

Destiny Daniel Cretton isn’t just going to tackle the Marvel Universe in the next few years. It should also work for Hulu, SVOD platform available in the United States and to which we owe in particular The Handmaid’s Tales. Tara Duncan, President of Freeform and Onyx Collective, was delighted with this new collaboration.

“Destin is a powerful storyteller. As we continue to expand our catalog, the voice only of Destin will help usher in a list of exciting content for our global audience ”.

It remains to be seen from now on which projects have been entrusted to him and when each of them will be released. On the other hand, we can already expect more information to be shared by the big-eared firm in the coming months.
