Disney’s highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series will debut two days later than planned, but there will be two episodes available to watch instead of just one. You’ll need to be a little more patient before it launches on Friday, May 27.
Disney+’s new flagship TV series in the Star Wars universe, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has been very slightly delayed. The star of the series, Ewan McGregor, who plays the famous Jedi Obi-Wan, announced in a video that the release date of the new series has been delayed by two days, from May 25 to May 27.
Had Obi-Wan Kenobi kept its May 25 release date on Disney+, the series would have paid homage to an important day in Star Wars history. In effect, the original film was released on May 25, 1977. May 25, 2022 would have marked its 45th anniversary. Some fans will therefore be very disappointed to see Disney postpone the series.

Two episodes will be available on release day
Disney + could not just announce bad news without trying to appease the anger of fans who are increasingly impatient to discover the series dedicated to their favorite Jedi. Thus, the streaming giant said that in compensation for this slight delay, viewers will be able to discover two episodes of the Obi-Wan series on May 27.
This means that we’ll have a fuller introduction to Obi-Wan’s story and can fully immerse ourselves in the adventure. Next, the streaming platform will release episodes weeklyas was the case with previous series The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett.
It is important to note that this postponement could be a big blow to Netflix, which will also launch season 4 of its flagship series Strangers Things on May 27. Indeed, the number of viewers a streaming production gets when it premieres is one of the main metrics used to measure its success, the two platforms are therefore likely to see their figures be lower than expected. While waiting for the month of May, you can go discover or rediscover the trailer for the series.
