As expected, Elon Musk seems to have grown weary of his plan to take over Twitter. What future for the social network?
After making headlines a few months ago, Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has now stalled. The billionaire had announced that he wanted to take a step back to precisely assess the number of bots present on the platform. It would seem that he has in fact completely abandoned the idea of his acquisition.
Elon Musk is still manipulating the stock market?
By announcing with great fanfare his desire to buy Twitter, the businessman especially indulged in his favorite game: to talk about him, and upset the stock market. An action that has not gone unnoticed. Many investors in the social network have criticized the attitude of the billionaire, and several complaints have been directed against him.
It must be said that despite all his speeches, Elon Musk is still not the owner of Twitter. Worse still, if he still holds – officially – a share of the company’s shares, he does not yet seem authorized to sit on the board of directors of the social network, as was mentioned at the time.
Why does Twitter no longer interest him?
According to a report from washington post, the boss of SpaceX and Tesla would have finally decided to abandon his plan to buy Twitter. Despite the fact that the company is still hammering loud and clear that bots only represent a minority percentage of its audience, and that it has the situation in hand, Elon Musk does not believe it, and the agreement is stagnating. His idea of making Twitter a private company that would give Internet users a taste for freedom of expression (at least as it is perceived by the billionaire) could thus never see the light of day, even though the board of directors of the bluebird recently endorsed the goals outlined by Musk for the future of the social network. It remains to be seen how things will develop in the months to come.
