End of the game for Fortnite in China

Here is Epic Games’ message to Chinese gamers regarding Fortnite’s abandonment in China:

The Fortnite China beta test will end and the servers will be shut down soon.

On Monday, November 1 at 11 a.m., we will close new user registration and the game download portal.

On Monday, November 15 at 11 a.m., we will be shutting down Fortnite’s servers and players will no longer be able to connect to the game through the WeGame client.

Thanks to all the Fortnite China players who took the Battle Bus with us by participating in the beta.

Epic has not provided additional information on why it has decided to end the Chinese version of its game. It may have something to do with the new Chinese gambling restriction on children. Since August, people under the age of 18 can only play video games three hours a week. But Epic isn’t saying if that theory is the one that prompted him to end his game.
