The hunt for demons will wait: Boss Team Games has announced that Evil Dead: The Game, its multiplayer game adapted from the film and television franchise, will not be released next month. It will be a few more months before we can fight the forces of evil—and shut down the necronomicron for good.

The developers explain that “ to be able to offer the best possible experience“, Evil Dead: The Game will have to afford a few additional months of development. Instead of its release in February, the title will arrive on May 13 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. A new trailer is expected next month, in addition to new information about the opening of pre-orders.
Taking the multiplayer game formula made famous by Dead by Deadlight, Evil Dead: The Game pits a group of 4 protagonists against an army of demons and their supreme leader. Four players will each embody one of the characters of the survivor group among an exhaustive cast crossing the three films evil Dead and the TV series Ash vs. The Evil Dead. We will obviously find Ash with the inimitable chin of Bruce Campbell, but also Scotty—the jock of the first episode—, Lord Arthur of the third opus The Army of Darkness and the series’ duo Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar, among others.
On the other side of ordinary mortals, another person will be in charge of embodying the demon Kandarian and causing trouble on the game map. It will be possible for the evil genius to control an entire army of minions, but also to take possession of the players—in the purest tradition evil Dead.
