Ezra Miller apologizes. Is The Flash movie still on the program at DC and Warner Bros?
For several months, Ezra Miller has been making headlines. His numerous escapades put him in a delicate situation. His character’s future within the DC franchise is being discussed at the higher echelons of DC Films and Warner Bros. Last week, we learned that three scenarios had been put forward. The pure and simple cancellation of The Flashdirected by Andy Muschietti was also considered.
Nevertheless, things seem to be moving in the right direction. variety has just shared a press release sent by its representatives. Ezra Miller would have finally decided to get help. It indicates:
“Having recently gone through a period of intense crisis, I now understand that I suffer from complex mental health issues and have started treatment. I would like to apologize to anyone I have worried and upset with my behavior. I am committed to doing the work necessary to return to a more healthy and productive state.”
As a reminder, Ezra Miller has had several run-ins with the law over the past two years. They were recently charged with burglary in Vermont. They allegedly stole bottles of alcohol while the owners were away. Faced with this new case, Warner Bros would have asked the actor•ice to seek professional help. Otherwise, they would have simply been dismissed from the promotional campaign for the film centered on the fastest man in the world.
The film on the right track again
According to sources familiar with the matter, who confided in variety, Warner Bros would support the decision of Ezra Miller. The firm did not however specify what will become of the film, nor even if Miller will be invested in its promotion. However, it would seem that the release date of the film remains unchanged.
It is still planned for the June 23, 2023 at the cinema. He will play a pivotal role in continuing the adventures of DC heroes in film. While Marvel has opened the doors to the multiverse, DC is about to open the door to parallel universes as well. This will also be the keystone of the film, since several iterations of Batman are on the program.
We will obviously find Ben Affleck in the skin of the Dark Knight, for the last time in the cinematographic universe. He will meet another masked vigilante, among the most legendary. Michael Keaton will don the costume again, more than 30 years later Batman: The Challenge. Ezra Miller should also embody several characters, to stick with the time travel of his character.
In the meantime, the next movie date for DC will be next October. October 19Dwayne Johnson will take his first steps as Black Adam. The film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra should not have any connection with The Flash. It is therefore unlikely that we will come across Ezra Miller, or another Justice League character. Even Shazam, his lifelong adversary in the comics, won’t be there. Their meeting will not happen before the third part of his adventures.
