For Halloween, Fortnite goes Resident Evil time

Always at the forefront when it comes to signing crossovers and partnerships, the battle royale Fortnite has just formalized a content update on the theme of Halloween, and the Resident Evil saga.

Fortnite goes on a candy hunt. For Halloween, the battle royale of Epic Games has just unveiled a whole new content update, featuring the famous horror franchise resident Evil. As part of the event Nightmares 2021, four new skins are already available from the online store.

These will allow players to afford Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, with two variants per character. Several items will also be accessible, such as the Hot Dogger pickaxe, the Green Grass back accessory (and its red and blue alternatives), the Electric Baton pickaxe, and the Typewriter back accessory. A new Glitch Walk emote has also arrived in-game.

Two packs offered for purchase

To get this new content, players have access to two separate packs on the online store, namely STARS team and STARS team equipment. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine skins are also available individually, at a price of 1,500 V-Bucks each, or around € 10.

Fortnite and pop culture

This foray of pop culture into the universe Fortnite is not unpublished. Since its launch in 2017, the battle royale has multiplied crossovers with franchises, since Stranger Things to the MCU, via John Wick or Borderlands. More recently, the game had also created real virtual events, by organizing concerts of Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and even Aya Nakamura. This new collaboration with Capcom’s Survival Horror, which comes just in time for Halloween, should continue to bolster Epic Game’s battle royale as the king of crossovers.
