Unlike Xbox Cloud Gaming, which can easily be compared to a “video game Netflix”, Stadia offers a hybrid formula: it’s streaming games, but you have to buy the games in the service’s store. Charge to Stadia to attract players …
Players who would like to try Stadia can log in and enjoy it for free, but the tricky part is… finding a game! Unlike Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate, which gives access to a hundred games to play in streaming without paying anything (apart from the subscription), on Stadia you have to buy the titles in the platform’s store.
Get an idea of Google’s service
Difficult in these conditions to test the offer of cloud gaming from Google. This is why Stadia offers from time to time free demos which allow you to get an idea of their quality and that of the service. Currently, it is possible to test two recent games, Control: Ultimate Edition and Riders Republic.
The first contains the main game as well as the expansions, which we will probably not really have time to experience since the demo is limited to 30 minutes. Riders Republic is a novelty from Ubisoft that takes place in a multiplayer universe based on extreme sports. Teams compete against each other on bikes, skis, snowboards and even wingsuits. For this title, Stadia offers the first two hours.
If Stadia has piqued your interest, hurry: we don’t know until when these demos will be available. Good to know: Achievements and game progress will be saved, in case you want to purchase the games afterwards. Demos on Stadia are nothing new, Google adds them from time to time like Fenix Rising and HUMANKIND last year, or Hello Engineer last October.
