A release date for GTA 5 on new consoles
GTA 5 and GTA Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S offer new graphics with up to 4K resolution and up to 60 frames per second. There are texture and distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing support, all while delivering the technical advancements of the latest console generation with faster load times, immersive 3D audio, platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback, and more.
Those who already have the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to transfer their Story Mode and Online Mode save to the new consoles from day one. Moreover, a single version of GTA Online will be available at launch and will be free for three months for PS5 owners. Rockstar isn’t saying what the price will be after the three months on PS5 or from day one for Xbox players.
It must be said that the announcement of the release date for GTA 5 and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series isn’t Rockstar’s biggest reveal. Indeed, the studio has also confirmed the development of GTA 6. All the details can be found on this dedicated article.
