It’s back to school for Amazon, which is launching its most ambitious series for the occasion: The Lord of the Rings.

For the start of the school year, Prime Video takes us to Middle-earth. The platform will finally unveil its adaptation of the works of JRR Tolkien, the expectation is high among fantasy lovers. The series developed by John D. Payne and Patrick McKay will not be the only ones to invade the catalog. Amazon Prime subscribers will also be able to discover two French series.

  • The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (season 1) – September 2

In a time of relative peace in Middle-earth, an evil lurking in the shadows resurfaces. Thousands of years before Frodo’s adventures, heroes will build legends that will last for generations. Developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay, The Rings of Power is inspired by the works of Tolkien. The plot will particularly follow Galadriel as she is persuaded Sauron will soon resurface.

After Cate Blanchett, it’s Morfydd Clark’s turn to step into the shoes of the famous elf. We will also cross paths with Robert Aramayo (Game Of Thrones) as Elrond. In production, no less than three directors will share the first eight episodes of this season.

In the Galicia of the 1940s, Marina Quirogaa young woman from high society, decides to pursue the serial killer who is prowling the city. She therefore calls on her faithful butler, Hector. Created by Teresa Fernandez ValdesRamon Campos and gema R.Neirathis Spanish production also counts on some French-speaking personalities like Jean Reno who appears in the cast of this detective comedy.

When twin brothers return home to find their disturbed mother with her face covered in surgical bandages, they begin to suspect that the woman might not be their mother. The young boys will do everything to shed light on this case.

In the casting, we find an actor rather known to Amazon Prime Video subscribers since he is also in the series The Boys. This is Cameron Crovetti who plays the offspring of Becca and Homelander. Here, he will give the reply to Naomi Watts and her brother Nicholas Crovetti. Peter Hermann will also be there.
