It’s been over a year now that Potterheads around the world have been waiting to hear more about Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, the next game from Avalanche Studios. After exploring the dangerous (and mostly desert) lands of Mad Max, the studio is tackling the Harry Potter universe with this new triple-A expected on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and pc.
Announced September 2020, Hogwarts Legacy has been very discreet since then, showing a few screenshots here and there, the subject of various and varied rumours, but never anything really concrete… Until next Thursday, March 17, which will see the broadcast of aspecially devoted to the title.
Open House at Hogwarts Legacy next Thursday
This State of Play will last 20 minutes, 14 of which will be dedicated to the gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacycaptured on its PlayStation 5 version. In addition to these first gameplay images, the game developers will also take part in the interview game to answer various questions about the project.
The Avalanche Studios title has been fueling speculation for months, with some attributing game-service mechanics to it, others imagining a very concrete single-player game, without microtransactions… The other big question concerns the game’s release date. If its publisher Warner Bros. has assured that the title was planned for this year 2022, no information has filtered as to the day, month or even season of release. Answers will undoubtedly be provided during this long presentation.
Just like the saga Harry Potter which is now available in numerous prequels to the big screen, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy will also explore the origins of the school of wizards with an adventure taking place in the 19th century. The plot, specially written for the game (and without any collaboration with JK Rowling, the controversial novelist behind the franchise), should see the player in the shoes of a new student at the prestigious school of magic .
