It would be impossible to disable all nukes in Metal Gear Solid 5

Almost seven years after its release, Metal Gear Solid 5 has still not revealed all of its secrets, at least legally. Thus, while we thought that all the nuclear weapons of the game had been deactivated, it appears not only that these disarmaments were not done in the rules, but in addition that it would now be impossible to carry them out in their entirety.

Probably the hardest quest ever Metal Gear Solid 5, because it cannot be achieved by a single player, the disarmament of all the nuclear warheads in the game. But hasn’t this mission already been accomplished? By exploring the files of the PC version, it was quickly established that a cutscene was intended to validate such an achievement, but it was not until the summer of 2020 that the objective had obviously been achieved.

In a new title video from KONAMI, DidYouKnowGaming’s YouTube account? said he spoke with a group known as “The Anti-Nuke Gang”. It would be to the latter that we owe the deactivation of all the nuclear warheads of Metal Gear Solid 5 on PS3. Except that KONAMI has since indicated that these actions were carried out illegally, and therefore could not be confirmed.

Metal Gear Solid 5 Nuclear Heads: Banned Account Weapons Could Not Be Disabled

The Anti-Nuke Gang admitted to having used tricks to reduce the number of nuclear warheads to zero. But that’s how the group discovered that weapons tied to banned accounts couldn’t be disabled. And the publisher would never have provided a solution to this problem. There would also be a reason for this inaction.

Shortly after the game’s release, players discovered an entry for a third chapter in its files. However, only two are accessible in Metal Gear Solid 5. A number of users then thought that by completing the Total Nuclear Disarmament quest, they could unlock this new chapter. Especially since the year the title was launched, KONAMI had published a message on social networks referring to the title of this third chapter (Peace). But knowing that relations with Hideo Kojima soured until the creator left home, it’s safe to assume that the extra chapter was never finalized. KONAMI would therefore have no interest in letting players complete a mission at the non-existing reward.
