Kill The Justice League won’t finally arrive until 2023

One of the biggest video game releases of this year 2022 is being shifted to 2023 : Rocksteady announced a new release horizon for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, its triple-A featuring the eponymous super(anti)hero team. A decision announced today on social networks by the studio which will have fans of the DC Comics universe waiting a little longer.

Suicide Squad pushed back to next spring

It is in a tweet posted online today that studio head Sefton Hill explained the reasons behind the decision. Hill explains that this release date delay will allow teams in the game “to allocate [plus de] development time » to be able to do “the best possible game”.

Announced in August 2021, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is the new project of the English studio Rocksteady, whose last triple-A release dates back a good number of years now. Since batman arkhamknight in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Rocksteady kept a low profile, with the only project being the spin-off virtual reality experience Batman: Arkham VR in 2016.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League therefore features four troublemakers from the DC Comics gang: Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and King Shark. The latter find themselves in Metropolis to fight the Justice League, subject to the mind control of the supervillain Brainiac. Among the heroes undergoing this brainwashing, we find Superman, Wonder Woman or even Green Lantern – in short, major enemies. The game is now expected for spring 2023 on PS5, XSX and PC.

It’s a blow for those who hoped to get a double ration of superheroes on their game consoles this year. The way is now clear for the upcoming release of Gotham Knights, the other important video game project for Warner, whose release is scheduled for next October. It’s Warner Bros. Montreal, already at work on the game Batman Arkham Originswhich takes the city of Gotham under its wing with a new open-world game playable in cooperative multiplayer.
