Mario Kart 8 DLC brings 48 new tracks

Nintendo has presented the first paid DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch which incorporates 48 “new” tracks.

The February 9 Nintendo Direct was full of announcements. After lifting the veil on a brand new game, Nintendo Switch Sportsthe firm has decided to announce the arrival of the very first paid DLC of Mario Kart 8 Deluxefailing to be able to offer us a Mario Kart 9. Finally it’s just as well since this DLC brings with it no less than 48 new playable circuits!

Finally… we say new when we should rather call it remastered circuits. Indeed, they will all be from the old games Mario Kart, all consoles combined. However, it adds a considerable amount of grand prizes, which will allow you to dive back into the races of your childhood or adolescence. Since the 48 circuits will not be released at the same time, here is the program announced by Nintendo.

Get ready to get back behind the wheel!

A total of 6 bursts of 8 circuits are planned for this year and next year. The first salvo will be available from March 18. Two new cups will then be available: the Golden Turbo Cup and the Maneki-neko Cup. In the first, you will find the Promenade à Paris (Mario Kart Tour), Toad Circuit (Mario Kart 7), Choco Mountain (Mario Kart 64) and Coco Supermarket (Mario Kart Wii) races, one of our favorites.

In the second, you can try your luck on the Tokyo Crossing (Mario Kart Tour), Mushroom Corniche (Mario Kart DS), Flying Garden (Mario Kart: Super Circuit) or Ninja Dojo (Mario Kart Tour) circuits. Lots of fun and nostalgia on the program for this first salvo.

Visually, you should not expect the graphic quality of the circuits of Mario Kart 8 Deluxehowever, they will be remastered (and not redone from A to Z) to offer you a more modern version of the circuits of yesteryear, with the least possible lag compared to other races.
