Motorola has just announced a new version of its smartphone equipped with a stylus. And it’s still affordable.
Pending the probable merger of Samsung’s Galaxy Note and S ranges, Motorola occupies the ground with the Moto G Stylus (2022). In the United States, the brand has just announced a new version of its smartphone equipped with a stylus. This update draws heavily from the previous generation and brings some welcome hardware improvements.
Always affordable, the smartphone with stylus does not evolve in large widths. It takes the design of its predecessor and retains a 6.8-inch screen displaying in Full HD + (2,460 × 1,080 pixels). Thanks to the front camera now located in the center (16 Mpx, f / 2.2), it will however be easy to distinguish the Moto G Stylus 2022 from the 2021 edition. Last year, Motorola decided to position it in the upper left corner of the screen.
A slight change for a device that retains a 3.5 mm mini-jack and its famous stylus. The latter can be stored in the smartphone and is the main curiosity of the Moto G Stylus (2022). As with the Galaxy Note range, the focus is on productivity without hitting the price points of Samsung’s models. The two models do not have much to do, apart from the stylus, Motorola evolving rather on an entry or mid-range segment.
90 Hz screen, 5000 mAh battery… Motorola improves its Moto G Stylus
A positioning that does not prevent the Moto G Stylus (2022) from evolving with its time. Its screen is now refreshed at 90Hz for a smoother experience, even with the stylus. Inside, there is a MediaTek Helio G88 chip supported by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It is still possible to expand this amount of storage using a microSD card.
On the photo side, Motorola offers a triple module consisting of a main sensor of 50 Mpx (f / 1.9). Classic in its approach, the Moto G Stylus (2022) adds an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle (f / 2.2) and a 2 Mpx (f / 2.2) depth sensor. A smooth evolution compared to the previous model, which is confirmed at the battery level.
The manufacturer has opted for a 5,000 mAh battery which, according to Motorola, offers up to two days of autonomy. On the other hand, we can regret that the manufacturer does not offer a fast charging solution. Despite the availability of Android 12 for a few months, the whole thing runs on Android 11.
A smartphone equipped with a stylus and still affordable
Motorola is not raising the price of its smartphone with stylus. The Moto G Stylus (2022) is displayed at $299.99 in the United States and the brand has not yet mentioned its release in Europe. We know, however, that the manufacturer aims to progress in France and the presence of such a device could help.
