Naughty Dog does not rule out developing new Uncharted

Asked about the possibility of developing a new Uncharted as the franchise seems closer to the end than the beginning, Naughty Dog opened the door to more iterations. It must be said that the PlayStation 5 will soon host remasterings of the last two episodes published, just to make you want more and more of the adventures of Nathan Drake.

With all these releases of titles from the previous generation, we could get lost. In the case of Uncharted, what is being prepared is ultimately not (very) complicated. Tomorrow Friday will officially appear UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection. A compilation exclusive to the PS5 and which, for 49.99 euros (or 10 euros for its PS4 owners), will bring together UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End and UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy in supposedly visually enhanced versions.

We may be surprised by the mention, present on the game’s sheet on the PlayStation Store, “Remote Play Supported”, with a logo of the PS Vita that we thought had been forgotten by Sony. A manifest error given that the PS5 does not offer to browse its toy library via the latest portable console from its manufacturer.

New Uncharted by Naughty Dog? ” Never say never “

With the arrival of these titles already played by many, they will no doubt be just as much, if not more, asking for new Uncharted on PS5. Back in 2020, Naughty Dog VP Neil Druckmann talked about a Uncharted 4 impossible to top in the series’ traditional formula. Words that therefore envisaged that the family would grow one day or another.

More recently, GamesRadar+ asked Shaun Escayg and Kurt Margenau, Creative Director and Director ofUncharted: The Lost Legacy, if they would be up for new Uncharted games. Kurt Margenau, who also worked as lead animator on Unccharted 4 cutscenes, didn’t appear closed to the idea:

“I think we can say with certainty that we can never say never. Yes. Uncharted is a franchise we love – that the studio loves, that I love, and that Kurt [co-concepteur d’Uncharted 4] love. It’s a world we want to see more of. So I can surely say [que oui] ».

For now, it is on the side of new multiplayer experiences that we expect the Californian studio.
