Foundation Apple tv+

new actors and a first image for season 2

The platform announces the arrival of new actors for the second season of Foundation. She also shared a first image.

With Foundation, Apple TV+ is undoubtedly its most masterful work. A monumental adaptation of a classic science fiction, which offers for the first time an incursion on our screens.

As a reminder, inspired by the works of Isaac Asimov, the series focuses on the destiny of Gaal Dornick, a brilliant young woman recruited by the eminent professor Hari Seldon. The latter predicts the imminent fall of the Empire, followed by a long period of barbarism. To limit the damage, he builds the Foundation, a special place intended to preserve the knowledge of civilization in the hope of its reconstruction. A crucial mission that will later be entrusted to Salvor Hardin, on a small planet at the end of the galaxy: Terminus. The narration follows the different characters of this ambitious sci-fi fresco.

After a rather successful first season overall, David S. Goyer’s series is preparing for its big comeback. A reunion that should not drag out since the platform is already sharing the first images of this new burst of episodes. We find Lee Pace and Jared Harris, respectively in the skin of Brother in the Big Day and Hari Seldon. We should also see Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey, who camped Gaal Dornick and Salvor Hardin in the first season.

New protagonists

Apple TV + also announces that it has recruited new faces for this season, ten actors who should thus give the answer to the different characters that we already know. Isabella Laughland, for example, who will appear as Brother Constant, a cheerful and confident priestess whose mission is to evangelize the Church of the Galactic Spirit.

Ben Daniels, who we recently saw in the Netflix series Jupiter’s Legacy meanwhile got the role of Bel Roise, the last general of the Superliminal Fleet almost too devoted to the Galactic Empire. We should also find Mikael Persbrandt (Sex Education) as The Warlord of Kalgan, a monstrous man with a powerful gift of clairvoyance. Driven by hatred, according to the Apple TV summary, he will launch an assault on the galaxy.

A return in 2022?

For the moment, it is not yet known when this new season will be broadcast. We can nevertheless hope that the appointment will be fixed later this year, probably a year after the launch of the series in September 2020. Especially since the creators hope to develop more than one season. The creator notably confided that he cut his story into 7 or 8 seasons. If the success of Foundation is confirmed, we can therefore expect to see it settle permanently in the catalog of the SVOD platform.
