It’s only a matter of days before we can experience the next generation of Nvidia graphics cards.
It’s official: Nvidia has chosen the September 20 to organize its next GPU Technology Conference. The firm also announced that CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote will be held at 5 p.m. that day. A moment that hardware fans should not miss, because the green team has promised to unveil its “latest advancements in gaming, design and graphics technologies“. Everything therefore indicates that it will take this opportunity to unveil its brand new generation of dedicated graphics cards: get ready for the official announcement of the RTX 40X0 from the Ada Lovelace series.
If Nvidia follows the same pattern as the previous generation, it will likely start by introducing the matriarch of the lineup, namely the RTX 4090. Current rumors estimate that this card will pack 16,1280 CUDA cores, compared to 10,752 for the RTX 3090 Ti. It should also be entitled to a simply dizzying amount of RAM, with 24 GB of GDDR6X at 21 Gbps.
A Titan model on the program?
Suffice to say that it will be necessary to plan the blow to feed this extremely greedy card (450W of TBP!). And yet, Nvidia would have yet another trick up its sleeve. Tom’s Hardware evokes a veritable monster with a technical sheet never before seen on “mainstream” hardware, with 48 GB of memory (!) and a simply delirious TBP of… 900 W. With such diabolical figures, it is will probably be a 4090 Ti/Titan model.
If the pattern of the Ampere generation repeats itself, the cards positioned more towards the middle of the range (4080 and 4070) should arrive fairly quickly after the release of the 4090, before in turn being followed by the entry models of range (4060 and 4050).
But Nvidia has hidden its game well. For now, nobody seems to know exactly what the brand will announce, or which models will be the first to hit the market. On the other hand, it would be very surprising that it does not officially unveil these new cards. So we give you an appointment on September 20 to get to the bottom of it. You can attend the conference directly on the brand’s website at this address. You can also watch it on Twitch or YouTube.
