Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi Could Get A Season 2 If Demand Is High Enough

That’s it, Obi-Wan Kenobi, it’s over. At least, for now, because it’s entirely possible that a season 2 will see the light of day in the future. Indeed, although the first season ends in such a way as to make the link with the films, the boss of LucasFilms affirmed that Disney + will restart production if the demand is strong enough on the side of the fans. The actors have already said they are ready to resume their role.

Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is surely one of the most popular Disney+ series of the moment. If all have not met with the same success, the latter joins the ranks of the Star Wars series which have received an excellent reception from fans and critics, alongside The Mandalorian. Also, as the season has come to an end this season, the possibility of a sequel arises.

At first glance, and given the way Season 1 ends, that seems unlikely. Indeed (be careful, you are entering spoilers), the last episode ends with Obi-Wan’s return to Tatooine, after having rescued Princess Leia and fought Darth Vader. All the elements are therefore in place to make the transition to Star Wars IV: A New Hope.

Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi is already talking about her

However, Disney+ is not closing the door to a season 2. Here is what Kathleen Kennedy, CEO of LucasFilms, says: “Honestly, we had planned to make it a limited series. But I think if the engagement is big enough and people really want more Obi-Wan, we’ll definitely consider it, because the fans are talking to us. And if we feel there’s a real reason to do this, that it answers the why, then we’ll do it. But we will see. »

One thing is certain, the question is debated within the production team. Deborah Chow, director of the series, is indeed more cautious about this idea: “I think if this were to continue, there really should be a good reason. » There is therefore still uncertainty and it is too early to draw hasty conclusions. Anyway, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, they are already ready to put on the costumes for a season 2.
