Sophie Thatcher, appeared in episode 3 of the Book of Boba Fett has not finished with the Star Wars license.
The conclusion is near for The Boba Fett Book. Thank God. In two short weeks, Disney + subscribers will be able to discover the final episode of the adventures of the bounty hunter. Whereas The Mandalorian had succeeded in bringing together the fans of the first hour and attracting a few curious people, the new series Star Wars struggles to find favor in the eyes of the spectators. She is even the subject of several mockeries, particularly concerning certain characters who appeared in episode 3.
We are obviously talking about the Power Rangers who wander around Tatooine aboard colorful vespas. This gang of thugs was recruited by Boba Fett to strengthen his position on the planet. Quickly, these new characters became the laughing stock of fans. Mockery that has not escaped their interpreters, like Sophie Thatcher who plays Drash in the series. She entrusted to The Hollywood Reporter :
“There’s obviously a lot of pressure, when you have the biggest fanbase ever. So I had to delete Twitter and Reddit because I didn’t want to watch anything (laughs). It’s inevitable that people will say what they want, but I’m really happy with the result.
Already involved in other projects
She also briefly touched on the future of her character in the license. We should thus find her for other Lucasfilm projects in the coming years. “Yes, I am not disappearing. I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say that.”. We should obviously see her again in the last episodes of the Boba Fett book. So far, the series has not been renewed. However, she did not specify where and when she could be found.
No season 2?
The new Star Wars series is far from having convinced the critics and the public. Disney+ will no doubt want to wait for the broadcast of the last two episodes before deciding on the sequel. The platform has not yet shared the audience figures for its new production, which is much more discreet than The Mandalorian.
The Boba Fett Book is currently streaming on Disney+. Every Wednesday, the platform unveils a new episode until its conclusion in two weeks. Afterwards, we should finally be able to discover Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor and Andor with Diego Luna. Two particularly anticipated series since they promise to explore the fate of two popular characters from the saga on the big screen.
As a reminder, Andor will follow the adventures of Cassian before the events of Rogue One. A dive into the origins of the character he played opposite Felicity Jones in Gareth Edwards’ film. The film had been the only one of the new vintage to really convince the fans of the first hour and the neophytes.
Obi-Wan Kenobi should, as its name suggests, offer us the return of the character camped by Ewan McGregor in the trilogy of the 2000s. The story will immerse us several years after the birth of Darth Vader, formerly Anakin Skywalker, while he watches over the very young Luke in Tatooine. Hayden Christensen will also be there. A new confrontation between the Padawan and his master is preparing. Neither of these two new series has an official release date. We know, however, that the appointment will be set later in 2022. Star Wars has therefore not finished invading the ranks of Disney +. For better or for worse… Let’s hope the latter is behind us.
