OnePlus Nord CE2, the elementary class

While we were expecting a 10 Pro for France, OnePlus has just formalized its new smartphone with a good price-quality ratio, the Nord CE2.

With the North range, OnePlus had made a change of direction which had surprised more than one. Indeed, the Chinese manufacturer had opted for a return to basics in order to once again offer smartphones with the best possible value for money. If the Nord range was synonymous with a return to the philosophy of the very first OnePlus, the Nord CE range for Core Edition represents value for money in the mid-range segment.

Last year, the first Nord CE convinced with an excellent price-performance ratio. So here is the OnePlus North CE2, his successor. 2022 obliges, the price has risen but OnePlus took the opportunity to go upmarket in terms of technical characteristics.

The screen and the photo

Like its predecessor, there is a flat screen on the OnePlus North CE2 with a diagonal of 6.43 inches. The definition is still Full HD+ with support for HDR10+ and above all a refresh rate of 90Hz. We also find the slab Fluid AMOLED which also reduces nearly 40% of blue lights. Because we are in 2022, we find a hallmark on the front with the only front camera. On the finish side, there is a polycarbonate back with the most beautiful effect and which is reminiscent of the Find X3 range from Oppo.

For the rear photo unit, it is composed of three cameras. So we have a main camera with a wide-angle lens, optical stabilization and a sensor of 64 Megapixels, an ultra wide-angle with an 8 megapixel sensor and a macro with a 2 megapixel sensor. Exit therefore the black & white sensor which helped for portraits on its predecessor.

Characteristics

On the technical side, exit the Qualcomm SoC, OnePlus has opted for the MediaTek Dimension 900, more efficient than the 7xx range of Snapdragon. We tested the smartphone with this SoC and we can reassure everyone, it will not fail on a daily basis and is able to manage everything without flinching. Alongside, we find 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal memory in UFS 2.2, a 4500mAh battery with 30W fast charging and unfortunately still Android 11 with Oxygen OS 11. Android 12 is well planned but it will arrive later. Note also the 3.5mm jack port and always this USB-C output in USB 2.0.

The OnePlus Nord CE2 will be available from February 17, 2022 at a price of 369 euros in its only 128GB + 8GB version for France. So yes, OnePlus persists and signs to offer good value for money.
