This is already the third edition of the Pégases, the ceremony organized by the Academy of Video Game Arts and Techniques which mainly rewards the production of the JV “à la française”. No suspense this year: the very original Road 96a procedural narrative adventure game and the superb death loop from the studio Arkane Lyonaccumulated the nominations, and it was these two titles that won the day, with 6 awards in the end for Deathloop and 5 for the title of Digixart.
Deathloop collects the most important awards (Game of the Year, Audience Award, Best Game Design, Visual Excellence in particular), but Road 96 comes out with more than honors by leaving with the Pegasus for best independent video game and Best Storytelling (among others). So there were only crumbs left for the other contenders: Sparklite wins the Pégase for the best foreign mobile game (it is indeed a pure gem), Chicory: A Colorful Tale wins the trophy for the best foreign indie video game, and The Forgotten City beats the incredible Psychonauts 2 in the category of best foreign video game. As a reminder, Deatloop is available on PS5 and PC and will arrive next year on the Xbox Series.
