There are many issues between Windows 11 and printers, and Microsoft is confirming this. The operating system group explains that some users are unable to install and configure their printer.
Problems between Windows 11 and printers
The first problem causes the installation to fail when devices attempt to connect to the printer through HTTP connections. The other problem arises when a user tries to install a printer through Internet Printing Protocol. These two issues only cause the installation to fail in certain cases.
Note that there is a third problem. Microsoft has confirmed a situation where custom print properties are not properly delivered to print server clients. Although the bug does not cause print operations to fail, it only allows printing with default settings.
Microsoft announces that it is investigating these issues between Windows 11 and printers. The company is working on fixes that should be implemented with an upcoming update. However, there is no information on the availability date. Maybe it will be November 9, during the next Patch Tuesday.
Earlier in the week, Brother announced that a significant number of its printers do not work with Windows 11. The group is investigating to prepare a fix and deploy it to users.
