release date and first info, we tell you everything!

Building on its success in dark rooms, SEGA’s blue hedgehog is back in force at the cinema for a third installment.

Who would have thought that the cinematic adaptation of the adventures of Sonic would become such a success story. After the catastrophic first design that did not fail to ignite the entire internet in 2019, Paramount quickly redeemed itself with fans of the SEGA mascot. With a design closer to the Sonic that we know so well, the film ended up being a rather surprising success, making this feature film one of the best live action video game adaptations.

Last March, the blue hedgehog made his return in a sequel featuring his two sidekicks: Tails and Knuckles. This new opus left no doubt about another sequel. Shortly after, the news falls and Paramount formalizes sonic 3. Ultimately, the redesign will not have saved just one film, but a whole new film franchise. In order to continue surfing on this unexpected success, the studio gives news of the third episode which is already in preparation. If you haven’t seen the latest movie yet, watch out for spoilers!

The SEGA Cinematic Universe

It’s now official: Sonic, Tails and Knuckles will be making their cinematic comeback December 20, 2024 in the USA. The wait will be long, but it will be worth it. After a nice sequel to the height of the first part, the third opus promises darker adventures… Indeed, the post credits scene of Sonic 2 revealed the arrival of our favorite emo hedgehog: Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sonic Adventure 2 released on Dreamcast in 2001 introduced for the first time this antagonist who does not lack spice. This title quickly established itself as the best 3D Sonic game. It is therefore to be hoped that Shadow will bring just as much luck to the 3rd appearance in film of the characters of SEGA. Little by little, the universe of Sonic takes place in the cinema, and we can only dream of a cinematic universe featuring other heroes of the Japanese studio, or at least of the Sonic Team (a film Billy Hatcher Where nights for soon ?).
