Never the last when it comes to making thunderous surprise announcements, the Game Pass would be preparing to welcome a new game of size very soon, according to the Polish site XGP. As reported on the /rGamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, XGP would have discovered an interesting mention on the Microsoft Store, more precisely on the page of RResident Evil Village.
The latest episode of the Capcom franchise would thus be about to join the subscription service, which allows access to a hundred games for download on consoles and PCs….
Resident Evil 8, soon on the Game Pass?
It would thus seem that the page of Resident Evil Village would have, at one point, mentioned its presence on the Game Pass. That mention has now been removed, but not before being immortalized in a screenshot by the XGP site. Obviously, this is in no way a confirmation, and only an announcement on Microsoft’s official communication channels will be able to prove whether this rumor is true or not.
However, it is interesting to note that a similar situation occurred a few months ago with Mass Effect Legendary Edition… A game that has indeed arrived on the Game Pass. As March slowly draws to a close, we shouldn’t have to wait long to discover the list of new additions to Game Pass for the beginning of next month.
Released in May 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, Resident Evil Village — or Resident Evil 8 for short — is Capcom’s latest big triple-A. This eighth installment in the horror game franchise is a direct sequel to the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and brings back its protagonist Ethan Winters. After seeing his wife captured by a strange family in the Louisiana bayou, the taciturn Winters finds himself having to save his daughter from a strange Eastern European village inhabited by creatures from elsewhere.
