see you at the beginning of September for the official release

Apple has just finished developing iOS 16, says Mark Gurman. The release of the new OS should not delay any longer.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple has just completed development of its new iOS iPhone operating system. In this 16th version, Craig Federeghi’s teams have integrated many new features, especially on the lock screen which has nothing to do with what we have known so far.

With just over a week before the release of the new iPhone 14, which also promises to be full of changes, Apple would therefore have completed the development of iOS 16. If the date of September 7 has already started to slip away from the walls of Apple Park when it comes to Apple’s new product announcements, no one is sure when iOS 16 will launch.

The most likely remains that the update will arrive on compatible devices (the list can be found here) around September 12 or 14. According to the journalist, the update will arrive at the same time for iPhone (iOS 16) and Apple Watch (WatchOS 9). If Apple follows its annual routine, the Apple brand should end the suspense on September 7 during the keynote.

Apple: a second meeting at the end of October

As a reminder, this event will be the first in a series of two for Apple in the space of a few months. It is indeed planned and announced that the apple brand will return to center stage before the end of the year. According to journalist Mark Gurman, it is possible that Apple is preparing a second keynote, this time for the end of October.

Within the latter, Apple would give pride of place to iPads and Macs which will not be mentioned during the upcoming September 7 event. The apple brand should also wait until the end of October to release iPadOS and macOS Ventura. In the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter, Gurman explains that Apple’s OS development teams will begin final preparations for the iPad and Mac operating systems this week, suggesting their release is not scheduled for any time soon.

As far as hardware is concerned, Apple could take advantage of this October event to announce new iPads and new Macs. According to the first rumors, the Cupertino company should present a new generation Mac mini as well as an evolution of its MacBook Pro. As for tablets, the Apple brand could upgrade the entry-level iPad as well as the iPad Pro.
