A remake of Spinter Cell is in preparation

Ubisoft Toronto is in charge of the development of the remake of Splinter Cell. The game will use Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine. This one debuted with the game Tom Clancy’s The Division in 2016. Technical producer Peter Handrinos admitted that “Enough time to miss an entire generation of consoles” from the last Splinter Cell game (Splinter Cell: Blacklist in 2013), despite requests from devoted fans of the series.

“We’re going to take the time to explore what this means for us, for light and shadow, for animation technology, for gameplay, artificial intelligence and even audio”, said Peter Handrinos. “We want to bring [aux fans] something new, while also connecting them to that feeling they had two decades ago, playing this masterpiece for the first time ”.

There is currently no release date for this Splinter Cell remake. This suggests that there is still work to be done. It makes you wonder if the game will see the light of day in 2022 or if it will be necessary to wait the following year.

In any case, this is the second remake for Ubisoft. The studio has already announced a remake of Prince of persia. It should have already been available, but it was postponed without a new date. This is because of the many improvements that are needed in view of the first trailer that worried players.
