Spotify is currently testing a new tool within its application itself to facilitate the creation of podcasts. The idea is to make this task easier so that more people create content and post it.
A tool to easily create podcasts
Spotify’s new in-app tool lets you record, edit and publish podcasts. The first test debuted in June in New Zealand and there is no need to have specific equipment. Just tap the “+” button in the bottom right corner of the streaming service’s app. Users can then select “Record Podcast”. There is also a “Create Playlist” option.
The podcast recording option directs users to a homepage where they can hit the record button to start creating content. The video in the tweet below shows that users can record in one take or pause recording for breaks. Once the recording is complete, users are able to edit their clips by cutting the audio or adding background music from a list of predefined tracks. Finally, it is possible to add a title, description and more.
Ever had an idea that was too good not to be shared? Now you can share it and have your voice on Spotify, in minutes.
