The studio is meeting Tomb Raider fans this October 28 for many birthday surprises.
This October 25 marked the anniversary of a video game franchise particularly popular with players. Indeed, it has been 25 years since tomb Raider was born, and that Lara Croft lavishes countless hours of exploration and action on us. Last January, Square Enix had already returned to the few surprises that awaited fans of the license, and some of them are still to come.

This October 28, Square Enix has planned a special day dedicated to heroin and has already clarified that fans can expect new announcements, and other special events that are still a surprise. In addition, the small illustration that accompanies the news acts as a mini teaser.

Happy birthday Lara!
On Twitter, the explorer’s fans did not fail to wish her a very happy birthday. It must be said that Lara Croft has marked a whole generation of gamers, and even more thanks to the reboot of 2013. In our opinion, she is one of the best female characters in video games as she has been able to inspire a large part of gamers since 1996.
Since its creation, tomb Raider has attracted a growing audience and the franchise now contains 19 games, as well as four films and a few comics to its credit. That doesn’t make it the highest grossing or most popular video game franchise, but it certainly can attest to a great influence in terms of female portrayal in video games, especially with the latest titles released.
These completely overhauled Lara Croft’s image, to make her appear more realistic, and a deeper story. A great success, which put the explorer back in the spotlight at least until 2018, the release date of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. On the cinematographic side, we are still waiting for news from Tomb raider 2 which will be released in 2023.
Some projects are still to come
For the moment, Square Enix has not yet unveiled all of its cards and several projects still seem to be in the works. The firm’s London studios are currently working on the mobile game Tomb Raider Reloaded, due out next year, and a cookbook called Tomb Raider: The Official Cookbook and Travel Guide is available for purchase starting October 26.
