Test of the Tineco floor one s5 mop vacuum cleaner, a winning combo!

Home automation is making great strides and is becoming more and more part of the interior of our homes, and more particularly in the world of robotic vacuum cleaners. But in general, you need two devices for vacuuming and mopping. Well with the Tineco Floor One S5, only one device is enough!

What makes the Tineco Floor One S5 different from other vacuum cleaners?

First thing is a vacuum cleaner and a mop. The Tineco Floor One S5 is a dual purpose, totally cordless upright vacuum cleaner. It is a vacuum cleaner equipped with a brush roller in front of the suction head and having several options. The brush roll is made of microfiber, which helps to suck up and remove dirt and spills.

It will allow you to easily clean all the dirt: mud, dust, wet dirt while scrubbing and washing your floor with the rotating roller. This vacuum comes with a freestanding charging and docking station. It is very practical for storing the vacuum cleaner and accessories. You can also download the application and connect your vacuum cleaner to your WIFI network, to have all the information on your phone.

Getting started is very easy, thanks to the comfortable telescopic handle and the possibility of rotating the vacuum cleaner from left to right to maneuver it.

The Tineco Floor One S5 is an easy to use vacuum cleaner

First step to use the mop vacuum, fill the water tank. It is located at the back and can be removed very easily. To use the vacuum cleaner, you can choose whether or not to add cleaning product with your water. One cap is enough for one tank. The tank seems a little small but in use we find that the vacuum cleaner does not consume a lot of water.

Once the tank is in place, you can turn the vacuum on by simply pressing the on button. This turns on in AUTO mode, the roller begins to rotate and clean the floor. The movement of the roller greatly facilitates the maneuvering of the device. I tested the Tineco Floor One S5 under various real-life conditions in a home.

The vacuum cleaner was tested on tiles, on parquet, in a bathroom, in the living room and even out of the cat litter box. It has passed all the tests of the various parts and surfaces. The dust in the living room has all been vacuumed and the tiling very well mopped. Same for the bedroom floor. Hair and hair in the bathroom are all gone, without going through many times. Finally, the entrance to the cat litter box is also very clean.

The only downside is the accumulation of dirt in the dirty water tank which fills up quickly. The great strength of the Tineco Floor One S5 mop vacuum cleaner is the microfiber brush roll at the front of the suction head. The rotation makes it possible to clean the dirt well, without having to pass several times. The dosage of water used makes it possible not to have a floor completely covered with water and allows very rapid drying.

And the brush roll is capable of cleaning both dried stains and liquid stains such as wine or milk. The combination of vacuum cleaner and mop roller works very well and leaves a streak-free result.

Vacuum and mop are self-cleaning

When you’re done cleaning, it’s time to empty the dirty water tank. For this it is still very simple, just unclip the front tank of the vacuum cleaner. First step, remove the filter and pass it under water (let it dry for 24 hours before using it again). Then open the tank, you will find in the upper part the biggest dirt, to put in the trash, then simply empty the dirty water in your toilet.

Once the vacuum has been emptied and the dirty water tank has been rinsed, place the Floor One S5 back on its docking station. The unit will automatically detect if a brush roll cleaning cycle is needed. If it needs cleaning, just press the button with the water drop, and you’re good to go for two minutes. This system allows you to have a device that is always clean without having to clean it yourself each time you use it, even more time saved!

A vacuum cleaner with smart sensors

The vacuum uses an iLoop smart sensor that detects the dirtiest spots. The vacuum materializes these areas by displaying a red circle on the screen, while the circle is blue when the floor is not very dirty. The moment the vacuum cleaner detects a dirtier area, it will speed up the rotation and water flow, to be able to clean the stain more easily. Once the vacuum judges that the floor is clean, it will automatically return to a standard speed, so as not to use water and battery too quickly.

A handy screen!

The LCD screen of the Tineco Floor One S5 vacuum cleaner gives us all the useful information. The remaining battery level, the power used by the vacuum cleaner (standard mode or MAX mode), the level of the water tanks and whether to fill or empty them and alerts if dirt is blocking the roller or the filters .

Satisfying battery life, but don’t abuse MAX mode

The cordless vacuum cleaner has a good battery life of around 35 minutes. For my house which is about 100 m², it is enough. On the other hand, when you activate the MAX mode, the autonomy drops below the 20-minute mark, which means that you have to go very quickly to clean everything. Last thing, it takes between 4 and 5 hours to charge the vacuum cleaner, but this is not a problem because it is always on its base when not in use.

My review of the Tineco Floor One S5 vacuum cleaner

Overall, I’m happy with the performance of this mop vacuum. It removes dry dirt from tile and wooden floors. The big highlight is vacuuming and mopping at the same time. It’s a big time saver and the result is very good. The minor drawbacks? The head of the vacuum cleaner does not go into small recesses and you cannot tilt it too much otherwise there is a risk of water leakage.

The little extras for the life of the vacuum cleaner

The Tineco Floor One S5 comes with a spare roller and filter, which means you don’t have to buy new ones right away. The box also contains a bottle of floor cleaner.
