Cake’s electric motorcycles are without a doubt the most futuristic motorcycles we’ve seen! Indeed, if the technical part is quite classic, the design is not normal and for good reason, the Swedish manufacturer wants to break the codes.
Cake is a young Swedish electric motorcycle manufacturer who entered the two-wheeler market not so long ago. It is in its showroom in Paris that we were able to discover the latest models of the brand, including four homologated for the road, and which has just arrived in France.
If the design is involved in the models offered by Cake, the price is also an important element. Unfortunately one does not want without the other, and in a market that is becoming very competitive, Cake will have to do well.
Kalk&: a motocross that comes from the future
If its name evokes a limestone bedrock (kalksten) found on the Swedish island of Gotland, where the manufacturer’s testing grounds are located.
Besides its design with a 6061 aluminum frame, this motorcycle offers a 10 kW electric motor with a torque of up to 42 Nm, for a top speed of 90 km/h. Its lithium-ion battery integrated in the center of the frame (recharge to 100% in 2h30), consists of cylindrical 18650 cells offering a capacity of 50 Ah (2.6 kWh) for a maximum autonomy of 85 km. It has 3 power modes and an LCD screen (odometer, battery level, engaged mode, instantaneous consumption), without forgetting a smartphone application.
There are also 19-inch rims, disc brakes, Ohlins suspensions, front and rear lights and LED indicators, as well as a weight of 75kg (with battery). The Kalk& is available for 14500 euros!
Ösa: a UFO on two wheels
This machine is surely the most surprising of the range. Count Swiss or rather Swedish, the Ösa is a machine with a thousand and one possibilities! Indeed, the Ösa has a long and flat frame which includes a modular clamping system, with the aim of being able to fix a large number of various and varied supports, offering a transportable load of up to 230 kg! More than 1000 configurations would thus be possible.
But that’s not all since its 2.5 kWh battery has 5 12V sockets. The latter also offers a range of up to 100 km (3 hours for a 100% charge) and is removable. Its engine has a power of 10 kW (13.5 hp) with a torque of up to 42 Nm, and offers 3 driving modes. There is also a TFT screen as well as Bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone and a dedicated app.
The Ösa exists in 2 configurations: the Ösa flex which is limited to 45 km/h and the Ösa+ which can go up to 90 km/h, are available from 9000 euros.
