the new Acer Swift X arrive with an Intel Arc GPU

The new Acer Swift X looks particularly promising, and the 16 “version will even be entitled to an Intel Arc GPU.

After presenting its latest notebooks at CES 2022, Acer is changing its tone and is now aimed at gamers eager for thrills; here are the new representatives of the Swift X range, equipped with the very latest 12th generation Intel Core processors.

Both new models feature IPS panels in a very popular 16:10 aspect ratio at the moment. With their sharp lines and overall finesse, both in terms of the chassis (17.9mm) and the borders, Acer certainly offers its most elegant machines in recent years. This did not prevent the integrator from finding room for 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory, a graphics card in good standing and especially this famous Alder Lake processor.

The 14-inch version will be entitled to a graphics card GeForce RTX 3050 Ti which should offer some leeway in terms of gaming and multimedia creation. It will power a 14-inch (2240 x 1400) IPS panel peaking at 400 nits of brightness, all with 100% sRGB gamut coverage.

An Intel Arc card for the Acer Swift X 16 ”

The 16-inch Acer Swift X, for its part, is even more interesting; in addition to its 12th generation 12-core processor (4 P-cores, 8 E-cores), it will also have the badge of honor to be among the first devices equipped with an Intel Arc graphics card. This means that it will meet the requirements of the new Intel Evo standard. We can therefore expect an exceptionally responsive device at all levels.

Regarding connectivity, both devices will also benefit from the Wi-Fi 6E standard. They will therefore be compatible with new generation network equipment. In addition, they will be entitled to two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt support, but also two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a full-size HDMI 2.0 port. A detail always welcome, especially for users allergic to dongles. The set will be completed by an FHD webcam and a Windows Hello compatible fingerprint reader.

In the end, then, these are two extremely versatile machines that should work wonders in general-purpose use. On the other hand, Acer has not yet unveiled the availability date or the price of these beautiful devices. The 14 ”version could be released in the relatively near future; but for the 16 ”version equipped with an Intel Arc, it will probably take a few more months.
