The OnePlus 10T is official and its performance makes you dizzy

OnePlus has just formalized its new high-end smartphone, the OnePlus 10T. This “T” version promises speed and good performance, thanks to its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and its ultra-fast 150 W charge.

It’s official, OnePlus has a new high-end smartphone. Several months after the OnePlus 10 Pro and in the absence of OnePlus 10, the announcement of a highly anticipated “T” version. The competition is currently strong and the Chinese brand had to react by launching the OnePlus 10T. Unofficial successor to a “10” model that never saw the light of day, this 10T highlights serious assets to convince. The merger with Oppo does not lose sight of the ambitions of OnePlus, which intends to make an impression.

To hurt the competition, OnePlus has decided to take care of the technical data sheet of its latest model. Equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screenthe 10T displays in Full HD+ with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It benefits from the always-on-display function and HDR10+ certification, not to mention its maximum brightness of 950 nits.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, charging at 150W: a “T” which means “Too powerful”?

Under the hood, the smartphone embeds the best currently available from Qualcomm. the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is present, supported by 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage in UFS 3.1. For the photo part, the OnePlus 10T has three cameras on the back including a Sony IMX766 main sensor of 50 megapixels (f / 1.8). Added to this is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f / 2.2) and a 2-megapixel (f / 2.4) macro module. An interesting proposal that comes with different modes (macro, night, long exposure, etc.) and allows filming up to 4K at 60 fps. At the front, a 16-megapixel front sensor takes place in a punch.

However, OnePlus had to make choices and its 10T does not benefit from the partnership with Hasselblad. On this model, the brand favors performance and confirms it in terms of autonomy. The battery with a capacity of 4800 mAh proves to be compatible with the 150W SuperVOOC charging ; enough to claim a full charge in 19 minutes. A good performance that should not be at the expense of battery life (1,600 cycles), promises the manufacturer. The latter evokes the presence of two charge pumps – against only one on many devices – to offer a faster charging speed without compromising security.

For the rest, there is wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for this 5G compatible smartphone. It should be noted that connectivity is intended to be reinforced thanks to the presence of 15 antennas forming a 360° system. The goal is to offer wifi and cellular signals “more powerful”regardless of the orientation of the device.

On the other hand, regulars of the brand will no doubt be surprised to discover that the alert slider is conspicuous by its absence. A choice assumed by the brand which had justified its absence a few days ago. She then mentioned a need for space to house the other components.

OxygenOS 13: the other advantage of the OnePlus 10T?

At launch, the OnePlus 10T comes with OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12. The manufacturer announces three major Android updates, as well as 4 years of security updates. The device should quickly switch to OxygenOS 13, the new version of the OnePlus interface. Presented at the same time as the 10T, it is intended “smooth and fast like its predecessors” by bringing new things.

For this version, the manufacturer offers a aquamorphic design. OxygenOS 13 bets on soft, rounded edges, adding the ability to change colors depending on what time you use the device. “The OS is brighter in the morning and adopts darker, calmer tones after the sun goes down”, says OnePlus. This new version integrates more always-on-display elements (permanent display) and an optimized user experience. For the rest, the firm mentions the presence of spatial audio, fast pair or even the game engine HyberBoost, Audio Switch and Nearby Share (content transfer). So many new features and improvements that will first be discovered on the OnePlus 10 Pro. The brand’s flagship model will be the first to be able to install the public beta “soon”. The update will then be deployed on the OnePlus 10T “later in the year”.

Here is the list of devices that will update to OxygenOS 13 : OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T; OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R; OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10R and OnePlus 10T.
