We visited the unique LEGO exhibition

To celebrate its 90th anniversary, LEGO has unveiled a unique exhibition in the heart of Paris! Open from today until September 25, it invites young and old to travel to the heart of the LEGO universe and participate in numerous creative workshops.

90 years ago, Ole Kirk Kristiansen, a Danish carpenter created a range of small wooden toys in his workshop in Billund, Denmark. What he didn’t know was that the LEGO Group would become one of the biggest toy companies in the world and inspire millions of children to play every year.

To celebrate its anniversary, LEGO is transforming the world into a gigantic playground and unveiling an unprecedented exhibition, right in the center of Paris. Fans of all ages will discover the backstage and the history of the brand during a participative and fun event that will celebrate the brand’s 90 years of creativity. It is the Galerie Joseph which hosts this exhibition in one of its most beautiful places in the capital.

In this unmissable exhibition, you will be able to discover rare archive pieces, dating back to the creation of the brand, as well as emblematic construction sets, novelties and giant creations in LEGO bricks created for the occasion…

Traveling through different universes, from LEGO DUPLO to LEGO City, including LEGO Friends, LEGO DOTS, LEGO Technic, LEGO Minecraft, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Super Mario, LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Marvel, LEGO DC BATMAN, and the LEGO Adult universe, everyone can find their favorite characters and adventures! Everything is staged in a colorful and creative setting to take your eyes away.

Without forgetting an unprecedented dive into the history of the brand, in a space dedicated to its evolution and the key dates that have made it, even today, a timeless playmate!

Workshops and events for everyone

Fun and interactive activities will be offered throughout the visit. So you can:

  • Participate in the creation of a collaborative work in LEGO DOTS, by covering a wall with small colored tiles.
  • Assemble the friction car of their dreams before testing it on a giant springboard; will it survive take-off?
  • Attempt to perform the most impressive stunt in the loops of LEGO City with their Stuntz motorcycle.

The brick and the legendary LEGO minifigure inspire the most extraordinary creations. The builders of today and tomorrow can give free rein to their imagination. It is therefore only natural that artists take over the brand every day to imagine unique works. For this exhibition, five artists (Lenz, Jan Vormann, M’Brick, LEGO to the party and Nicolas Bianco) have lent themselves to the game of giving free rein to their creativity and exhibit in a dedicated space, their creations freely inspired by LEGO bricks. . Of course, visitors can also contribute in their own way, with the participatory works.

In addition to workshops, product universes and its impressive works, the LEGO exhibition “90 YEARS OF CREATIVITY” is an opportunity to explore lesser-known aspects of the brand, which are its commitments to inclusion and environmental responsibility. Indeed, for 90 years, the strong values and the diversified offer of the LEGO brand have made it the accessible and transgenerational brand that it is today.

Thus, thematic spaces are devoted to the brand’s environmental commitments, such as the creation of vegetable plastic bricks or the brand new prototype of recycled plastic brick, as well as its initiatives in terms of diversity and inclusion. From Braille bricks to the production of assembly instructions in audio version, through the diversity of characters represented by the minifigurines.
