On Twitter, Netflix recalls the list of series that will be released next year. What does the red N have in store for us?
2021 has been a pretty busy year for Netflix. Even as the holidays approach, the platform still has plenty of new productions in its hood. The Witcher, Cobra Kai or Don’t Look Up: Cosmic Denial, the red N will end its year in style before coming back in force in 2022. On Twitter, the company shares a small list of the program for the coming months. There will be something for everyone.
- Stranger Things (season 4) – summer 2022
It is one of the most anticipated series. After 3 years of absence, Stranger Things will return to our screens for a fourth round of episodes. The pandemic will have largely delayed the filming of this new part of the adventures of Eleven and his friends. The good news is that behind the scenes, the creative teams are busy delivering it to spectators in the summer of 2022.
Eleven will be returning to Hawkins for spring break. She will be able to reunite with Mike and his friends, after moving to live with Joyce and her family. But in the small town, nothing ever goes as planned and that peace is going to be compromised again by the arrival of a new monster from the Upside Down. For his part, Hooper is visibly a prisoner in Russia.
- Umbrella Academy (season 3) – coming soon
The Umbrella Academy hasn’t said its last word. More than a year after the second season, released in July 2020 on our screens, Steve Blackman’s series will be offered a third round of episodes. No date has yet been shared, but the broadcast should logically take place in 2022.
After saving the planet from a new apocalypse, the members of the Umbrella Academy return to the fold. But upon their return, they discover that other superheroes have taken their place at the Hargreeves Mansion. They are upset over time and find themselves visibly in an alternate reality.
- Locke & Key (season 3) – coming soon
We will find the universe of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. After two successful seasons, Locke & Key was renewed by Netflix, even before the broadcast of the second burst of episodes. The Red N is confident in its production, and intends to make the trip last a little longer. We should find the Locke family as early as next year.
- Sandman – shortly
Sandman will finally see the light of day. After years of rumors and waiting, the series adapted from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels will finally see the light of day. A rather risky adaptation for Netflix which attacks a monument of geek culture. If the first images have already been unveiled, no trailer has yet been shared. But as we approach 2022, we can hope to discover more in the coming weeks. We open our eyes.
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – shortly
One year after the release of the video game title, Netflix is also making its first foray into the world of Cyberpunk. The platform will broadcast a series inspired by the universe created by CD Projekt Red. After the success of Arcane, Netflix may have its new goose that lays the golden eggs there. Imagined as a stand-alone, no need to have played games to discover it, this animated series will consist of 10 episodes and will follow a street child who tries to survive in the futuristic city. He will cross paths with an Edgerunner, a mercenary.

After Infinite Darkness, Netflix will produce a new series resident Evil. This time, it will be the flesh and bone incarnations of the characters from the video game license that will be presented to the spectators. The plot takes us 30 years after the detection of the T virus. It will be about plunging us into the heart of the Umbrella Corporation, a multinational whose secrets were uncovered at the start of the epidemic.

Netflix also announces a host of new films, without specifying which they are. We can nevertheless expect to find Enola Holmes in the second installment of his adventures. Moreover, we will probably have to wait until next year to find out the details of this program which promises to be particularly busy.
