Will Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Punisher leave Netflix for Disney+?

Thunderbolt for Marvel fans: the Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Punisher series could disappear from the Netflix catalog in the coming days. On the platform, they each briefly displayed the message “available until March 1” before it was removed. Disney+ could then recover them.

The ruthless war of streaming platforms has just claimed a new victim. Marvel fans have been in turmoil for a few hours after Netflix posted a mysterious message about the Defenders series: “available until March 1st”. The question is valid : Will Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Punisher leave the service catalog? And to go where? For the time being, these questions remain open, Netflix having made no official statement on this subject.

The first theories obviously turn to Disney +. Marvel’s distribution rights holder, the entertainment giant has indeed ended rival’s Expanded Universe ambitions by announcing the launch of its own SVOD platform. It would therefore seem surprising that these series completely disappear from the landscape, so Disney now produces several content related to the MCU.

Which streaming platform will pick up the Marvel series from Netflix?

That being said, the displayed darkness of the series in question would clearly denote the tone instilled by Disney in the Marvel universe. We see badly The Punisher massacre his enemies in repeated bloodshed in the middle of Pixar films. We can therefore expect Daredevil and the whole gang to land on Star, the section intended for more adult content on Disney+. Alternatively, the series could join the ranks of Hulu, the SVOD service owned by Disney.

If so, it will mean the end of the festivities for French spectators, for which Hulu is not yet available. Whatever happens, this is very bad news for Netflix which, even years later, continues to benefit from the success of its Marvel series. After his recent appearance in the film SpiderMan: No Way Home, Daredevil notably returned to the top 10 of the most viewed content.
