After the leaks, the confirmation: Xbox has just unveiled its new multi-account subscription, the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family, which is currently being tested in Ireland and Colombia. Microsoft specifies that “other countries/regions may be added in the coming months.” The price of this subscription is 21.99 euros per month and allows access to Game Pass to 4 people in addition to the main account (that of the player who pays the subscription). The only constraint, the 5 people attached to the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family must all be located in the same country.
The content of the subscription is the same as that of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (12.99 euros/month in individual subscription), i.e. access to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, EA Play, Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft is also setting up a conversion system that allows you not to touch the amount of your subscription but with constraints on the number of days of access to Game Pass Friends & Family, i.e.:
30 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate = 18 days of Game Pass Friends & Family
30 days on the Game Pass console or PC = 12 days on the Friends & Family offer
30 days of Xbox Live Gold = 12 days of Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family
30 days of EA Play = 6 days of Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family
So there really is something for all budgets. In these times of galloping inflation, it is an understatement to say that Microsoft is positioned on the right side of the price barrier in a JV sector where the competition (we won’t name anyone) sometimes gets bogged down in rather questionable choices.
