Xiaomi takes everyone by surprise and will make the presentation this Thursday of its brand new foldable smartphone: the Mix Fold 2.
This is the big announcement of the day when it comes to smartphones. While we have just learned that the Chinese brands Oppo and OnePlus were banned from sale in Germany for a patent history with Nokia, the direct competitor of these two manufacturers: Xiaomi. She comes to place herself as the ideal replacement.
Capable of doing everything, the brand offers both high-end phones and more affordable products. In recent months, Xiaomi has even entered the world of foldable smartphones, overshadowing Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold and Flip. It was on Weibo that the brand announced a few hours ago that it was going to present the Mix Fold 2 on August 11th.
A 360 degree foldable smartphone
A conference that is likely to be followed closely by a large number of people as the developments reported by various rumors are interesting. This smartphone should notably have the possibility of folding in both directions, a real feat that Samsung, yet the most advanced firm in the world of foldable phones, has still not managed to master.
In the rest of the features expected for this smartphone, rumors today speak of an 8-inch unfolded screen with a quality never seen before. Some analysts talk about a 2k screen and a 6.5 inch external screen. Inside the phone should be just as impressive with Snapdragon’s latest 8 Gen 1 Plus chip.
A phone, but not only
For the moment we have no idea of the price at which this phone will be sold nor of the release date of the device on the old continent. In addition to the Mix Fold 2, Xiaomi announced in its Weibo post that this presentation evening would highlight other brand products.
The firm should notably demonstrate the new Buds 4 Pro TWS, high-end wireless headphones. The other highly anticipated product expected to be presented by Xiaomi on Thursday will be the 12.4-inch Pad 5 Pro tablet. This version, larger than the classic Pad 5 Pro (11 inches), should have the right to a few nuances, particularly in terms of the front and rear photo blocks.
If the rumors are already numerous on these products, in particular the Mix Fold 2, the Chinese brand should answer all our questions in 48 hours.
