Xiaomi is full of novelties

Xiaomi has multiplied announcements in Paris, as part of its Discover Xiaomi 2022 international launch. The brand has unveiled four new products: the Book S 12.4″ laptop, the Smart Band 7 connected bracelet, the Electric Scooter 4 Pro scooter and the 55″ A2 TV.

Xiaomi had given us an appointment in Paris on this first day of summer; not to celebrate the festival of music, but to present its novelties. True to form, the Chinese giant did not come empty-handed and is presenting a wide range of new connected products.

Xiaomi Book S 12.4″: the brand’s first 2-in-1 laptop

The most surprising is undoubtedly the 12.4-inch Book S, the Xiaomi’s first-ever 2-in-1 laptop. Like Microsoft’s Surface Pro, Xiaomi is betting on the hybrid to convince fans of mobility and versatility. The manufacturer offers a 12.4-inch LCD touch screen displaying in WQHD+ (2560 x 1600 pixels), with a maximum brightness of 500nits. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and seems to be limited to a 60 Hz display (Xiaomi did not specify the refresh rate).

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Book S 12.4″ opts for a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2. Engraved in 7 nm, it is based on 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage. This 2-in-1 ARM PC is also equipped with two microphones, two 2W speakers, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The brand promises more than 13 hours of battery life for its first 2-in-1 machine. We also find a 65W fast charger to accompany this 12.4-inch 720-gram Book S. Finally, the whole thing runs under the operating system Windows 11 from Microsoft.

The Xiaomi Book S 12.4″ will be priced at 699 euros in Europe (excluding keyboard), from June 30, 2022.

Smart Band 7: the connected bracelet evolves smoothly

More anticipated and a real best-seller of the brand, the Smart Band connected bracelet is back. After the Mi Band 6 (read our test), it’s logically the turn of the Smart Band 7 to debut in France. Already presented in China, the bracelet is in line with its predecessors with however some novelties. It has a 1.62 inch AMOLED screen (compared to 1.56 inches previously) offering a 25% increased visibility.

In order not to lose autonomy despite a larger display, Xiaomi is also upgrading the battery. This goes from 125 to 180mAh to offer up to 14 days standby, a lifespan on a single charge comparable to the previous generation. For the rest, we always find more 110 sports modes and additional modes to adjust their training programs.

Regarding the sensors, the manufacturer indicates that his device has a “brand new professional analysis V0² max ». It measures the maximum amount of oxygen that users can use during exercise. We also find the sleep trackingof the SpO² or the cardiac frequency. Finally, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 relies on customization with more than 100 dials and several options of colored wristbands. It has a water resistance of 5ATM.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 will be available in France at introductory price at 49.99 euros June 22-23, 2022 at mi.com and major retailers. It will then be marketed at the price of €69.99from June 24, 2022.

Electric Scooter 4 Pro: a rise in power

The giant is also beefing up its scooter catalog with the Electric Scooter 4 Pro. it’s about the Xiaomi’s most powerful scooter yetwith a 700W rated power for a maximum speed of 25 km/h. It has a generous battery of 12,400mAh to provide a range of up to up to 45 km per charge. This new, more upscale model does better than the Mi Electric Scooter 3, which remains more affordable. According to Xiaomi, the Electric Scooter 4 Pro provides enough power to climb slopes of 20%.

The electric vehicle has an aluminum construction and is fitted with 10-inch tubeless self-sealing tires. “These tires are thus resistant to punctures thanks to the Xiaomi DuralGel and more durable on rough roads”, promises Xiaomi. The size of the scooter should also offer more comfort when standing and allow it to support more weight. Users have access to theeABS before and at a rear double pad disc brake system. Finally, a new and improved dashboard interface aims to ensure a “distraction-free experience” and complete.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro will be available at 799 euros in Europe. The release date in France will be confirmed later, but availability in mid-August is already mentioned.

Xiaomi announces new affordable TVs running Android TV

The latest announcement concerns the universe of televisions with the Xiaomi TV A2 55 inches. The desire to position this format is not insignificant, it is one of the most popular sizes with users. However, the manufacturer promises to offer its A2 series in three sizes: 43, 50 and therefore 55 inches. The design is in line with Xiaomi TVs with a metal frame supported by a central foot for the largest model.

The TV has a 4K Ultra HD display Dolby Vision compatible, with a 178° field of view. On the audio side, the Dolby Audio experience is part of this connected TV. The brand remains faithful to Android-TV and integrates the Google Assistant while the TV can be controlled via a 360° Bluetooth remote control. The American giant’s OS provides access to the large catalog of Google Play and apps like Netflix, YouTube or Prime Video. The TV also has Chromecast.

Xiaomi says its Xiaomi TV A2 55 inch will be available, in Europe, at the price of 699 euros. The French branch tells us that the prices and availability for France will be communicated later. According our informationthe series will be marketed from June 24, from 449.99 euro.
