A glitch makes it possible to deactivate the cel-shading of the game Zelda Breath of the Wild, which makes Internet users laugh a lot.
This is the first game recommended for Nintendo Switch. Zelda Breath of the Wild is one of the video game nuggets which, since 2017, has never ceased to conquer the hearts of gamers. Multi-award winning, the game is arguably one of the best Zelda games of all time, if not THE best for some. But we must admit that, what makes the charm of Breath of the Wild, this is the drawing aspect of the game’s graphics.
What gives it this particular aspect is what is called cel-shading. Lighting technique used in cartoons or in some video games, it is an essential aspect in the graphic development of Breath of the Wild… That a player found very funny to remove thanks to a very simple glitch. It turns out that if you leave your character in a very specific place on the map, then the cel-shading will be disabled.
It was a Reddit user who first noticed this glitch, but Internet users quickly got carried away and everyone went there with their own little experience. So on social media, you can watch a ton of cel-shading free in-game footage, which makes the characters look like plastic dolls. All of their bodies, including their hair and clothes, appear so smooth that they become shiny.
We are still waiting for the continuation
This little experience allows you to rediscover the game, while waiting for the release of the second opus which is desired. This one unveiled in a very first teaser at Nintendo’s E3 2021 conference, but we hardly know anything about it. We still know that we can explore the skies with Link and that this will be an important part of the game.
It is expected sometime in 2022, but no specific release date has been announced. For now, it is better not to expect much knowing that a slew of games have already been postponed due to the global pandemic. Nintendo will surely give news of its next opus by the end of the year or the beginning of next year.
